We welcome you to the autumn 2014 edition of our newsletter. We are pleased to share with you our achievements and our development as a translation vendor.
To start, you can go to the roll bar menu and choose the section you wish.
We are launching our company blog with sections such as cultural differences, business management...For the last few months we have been developing our company blog and integrating it with the rest of our corporate web. We are joining the recent trend of using a blog as a way to provide our clients and providers with useful information. The blog will also help to increase the company's ranking on search engines. We are currently creating content ahead of the official launch for clients and providers.
Initially the blog will have eight categories aimed at two main groups of clients. Firstly, we have the cultural differences, events, business management, international business and did you know...? categories. These categories are aimed at our direct clients, specifically those working in the areas of marketing and international business. Secondly, we have the desktop publishing and linguistic technology categories, aimed at project managers from translation companies that work with AbroadLink.
Cultural DifferencesIn an increasingly diverse and interconnected world, we understand that many of our clients need information regarding different perceptions of the world depending on each culture and how this may affect the way they do business. Those working in international business who deal with people from other cultures will benefit tremendously from learning the basic aspects of behaviour in the business field in these diverse cultural situations.
International BusinessThis category includes all information that could help us to perform better in the daily activities involved in marketing and international business.
Business ManagementIn this category we will find several different types of information within the business and workplace field. In this category we have discussed "What to wear at the office" and "What is business coaching?", to name two examples.
Did you know...?In this category we will discuss interesting facts and general culture relating to languages and speech.
EventsWe will update you on the events that we attend, generally related to marketing, sales and foreign trade.
Desktop Publishing (DTP)This is one of the categories aimed at project managers at other translation companies working with AbroadLink. We will discuss several low difficulty technical aspects regarding DTP (or typesetting) work in programs such as InDesign, FrameMaker, Illustrator or QuarkXpress, to mention the most important.
Linguistic TechnologyHere we will discuss aspects directly related to work tools, specifically in the translation area: translation memories, linguistic resources, terminological databases...
