CorelDRAW: Adobe Illustrator's most seasoned competitor

CorelDRAW is a mature and highly developed software which was designed by the engineers Michel Bouillon and Pat Beirne from Corel Corporation in 1989. It is currently in its 19th version, CorelDRAW 2017. Thanks to its sophistication and the large amount of features that it offers, it measures up to the market leaders, which are Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, although it has a much smaller market share. CorelDRAW is like a combination of Illustrator and InDesign, offering the possibility of outlining text and handling outlined text as can be done with Illustrator, while also making it possible to design pages for catalogues or brochures, which is characteristic of InDesign.

Sysfilter for CorelDraw: the solution to extract text

Due to the importance and versatility of this software, Sysfilter, a German software company that develops solutions for the translation industry, offers an application to extract texts from CorelDraw in its package for the extraction of texts for translation.

However, Sysfilter's solution is not as highly developed as that created for InDesign, as it does not offer the possibility of maintaining certain format types and of putting text back into text boxes without changing its dimensions.
